Jason Li, PhD

Project Manager / Technical Lead
  • Dr. Jason Li received his Bachelor of Science from the National University of Singapore (NUS) in 2014. He continued to complete his PhD in Chemistry with NUS in 2018, focusing on visible-light transformation of ethylene gas as 2-carbon-atom source and deuteration of silane. During his PhD, apart from array of conventional organic synthetic technique, he has gained practical experience to novel synthetic technology such as continuous flow chemistry and visible-light induced transformation.
  • Upon graduation, he joined GSK in 2019 as a Technical Development Chemist governing the product life cycle and manufacturing process of two APIs, of which one process was a semi-continuous manufacturing at commercial scale. Through scientific hypothesis and detailed process chemistry understanding; Jason has demonstrated that the optimization of commercial process at scale leading to ~7% increase in overall yield. In addition, he was appointed as Lead Chemist for tech-transfer process, with successful transfer and completion of validation campaign and into routine manufacturing. Also, as Lead Investigator for deviation management, deviation report led by him was timely closed with successful identification and implementation of CAPA.
  • In 2022, he joined Tate & Lyle as Senior Scientist, and as a Lead Chemist to introduce innovative novel technology into the R&D department of the company.
  • Dr. Li has cumulatively more than 9 years of experience in R&D and industrial experience, and has held leading appointments in multiple projects. He is also trained in GMP, GDP and has executed his scientific knowledge at commercial scale, along with critical problem solving and deviation management skills.

Jie Wu, PhD, Assoc. Prof.

Founder / Consultant
  • Dr. Wu Jie received his Bachelor of Science from Beijing Normal University in 2006. He then completed his PhD in Chemistry in 2012 at Boston University under Prof. James Panek, focusing on the Total Synthesis of (-)-Virginiamycin M2 and Chiral Organosilane Based Sequential Transformations to Access Polycyclic Scaffolds. After that, as a postdoctoral researcher working with Prof. Timothy Jamison and Prof. Alan Hatton in the Department of Chemistry and Chemical Engineering at MIT, he utilized CO2 as a green 1-carbon-atom source to synthesize useful chemicals in continuous flow reactors.
  • Dr. Wu currently leads a research group in the National University of Singapore, Department of Chemistry as a Associate Professor (with tenure). His group aims to utilize micro-tubing reactors as better platforms to provide new chemical transformations and sustainable manufacturing with relevance to contemporary problems, focusing on exploring new fundamental reactions that directly transform abundant feedstocks (natural gases, unfunctionalized alkanes and silanes) into value-added products in an atom- and step-economic fashion, and harvest visible-light by chemical means and using light-energy as energy input for chemical transformation.
  • He has demonstrated the development of advanced reactors, C-H, Si-H, B-H activation under visible-light-irradiation, fine chemical synthesis using natural gas feedstocks and have developed flow-based end-to-end API synthesis.
  • Dr. Wu has more than 10 years experience in novel technology related to continuous flow chemistry. He also holds numerous patents and has published in high impact renowned peer-reviewed journal such as Nature, Nature Chemistry, Chem, JACS, ACIE, etc.
